Rules

  1. General:

    CSSE Edmonton Chapter members must adhere to a one member account per person; any duplicate member profiles will be merge or deleted.

    Please refrain from posting any content that could be flagged as spam. Self-promotion for commercial purposes (i.e. advertising a book or article which is only available at a profit) and direct sales pitches are not allowed. Members engaging in these activities will be warned first and then removed from the website if the activity persists.

    Posts should be respectful, mindful and polite to other members.

  2. Discussions:

    Posts in the comment sections must be related to CSSE Edmonton Chapter business (meetings, events, training, committees) or to furthering the art and science of Loss Prevention Management; and preserving life, equipment, material and the environment and encouraging the pursuit of excellence of its members.

    All information is posted at the member’s discretion and members are responsible for all the information they post.

  3. Bilingualism:

    We encourage members to post in both English and French wherever possible. However, please consider the fact that not all members are bilingual and as such, have the ability to post in their first language only.

  4. Inappropriate Posting:

    The following is classified as inappropriate posting and will not be tolerated within the membership: harassing, abusive, or threatening postings/comments, attacking individuals, groups or the CSSE, derogatory, unprofessional, disrespectful or ad hominem comments, harmful to minors, obscene/pornographic, objectionable, privacy invasive of others or in violation of any Canadian law, Infringing on intellectual property, privacy or other rights of third parties. This will also include any defamatory comments about the CSSE Edmonton Chapter - any CSSE Edmonton Chapter publication and/or initiative, CSSE member or any other individual or entity, promotion for personal gain, such as advertising a published work to make a profit, or selling products or services.

  5. Reporting Abuse:

    The CSSE Edmonton Chapter Board of Executive and Communications Committee team will adhere with a strict notice and take down rule. Any members who post content which is deemed to be inappropriate will be notified and given 48 hours to take down the post. The Group Moderator has the right to remove all inappropriate posts that are not taken down after 48 hours. Members are encouraged to flag any posts which they deem to be inappropriate.

  6. No Responsibility/No Liability:

    The CSSE Edmonton Chapter does not assume any responsibility or liability whatsoever for any posting. You agree to waive any legal or equitable rights or remedies you may have against the CSSE Edmonton Chapter with respect to these rules, including, but not limited to, member posting, posting restrictions, deletions, or moves, and member restrictions, removals, or blocks.

    Lastly, please be respectful of other members’ opinions. As long as the opinions, views and debates are not threatening, abusive, defamatory, discriminatory or harassing, or not in breach of these rules and guidelines, everyone is entitled to express him or herself; even if you may disagree.
