Susan Sawatzky, B. Ed, CRSP, owner of In-Scope Solutions, is an independent safety consultant specializing in Fatigue and Stress Management. Susan speaks internationally on the topics of fatigue and stress in the workplace and consults with a wide variety of industry clients to assist in finding appropriate organizational solutions. She is also an instructor at the University of Alberta, the University of New Brunswick and the University of Calgary instructing Fatigue Management, Stress Management and Psychological Health and Safety, Business and Leadership and Safety Management Systems in their various OHS Programs. Susan is also a partner in Sustainable Workplace Strategies, a company that focuses on empowering organizations to continually build their capacity to effectively manage stress and other mental health issues in their workplaces.
Recent industry experiences include drafting OHS Fatigue Legislation currently being proposed for Alberta and providing subject matter expertise for the Fatigue Management Best Practices publication for the Industrial Occupational Safety & Health Association (formerly the Alberta Petro-Chemical Safety Council). Susan was also involved in creating fatigue policy and guidelines for the Canadian oil and gas industry as the previous manager of their fatigue portfolio
